The Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem Chambers of Commerce Announce Development of Web-based Salary and Benefits Survey

Winston-Salem, NC -

The Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem chambers of commerce announce a partnership with the compensation professionals of The Waters Consulting Group, Inc. to develop a Web site survey and management resources tool for salaries and benefits comparisons.

Earlier this year in April, the three chambers launched major action steps in making the Piedmont Triad one of America’s best performing regions in the United States and a major site for business growth and development.

One of the measurements of achieving the Piedmont Triad’s goal is to measure the region’s growth in employment and compensation.

The new online service will be one of the first steps in measuring the baseline of compensation in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. This will be delivered through SurveyNavigator™ for the Piedmont Triad, a proprietary system offered by Waters Consulting that allows subscribers to access salary and benefits data quickly, easily and affordably. With this system, users can compare their organization’s salaries with other organizations in groupings by jobs, industry/business types, geographic regions and other demographics.

“Our goal is to help our members in organizations of all sizes in the area of employee compensation by providing a single reliable source for survey information,” said Tom Dayvault, president of the High Point Chamber of Commerce. “We believe this is a realistic goal, and we are committed to providing the best source for salaries and benefits information online and accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

“In the next two weeks, the 5,000 members of the Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem chambers of commerce will receive materials to participate in the online survey,” said Gayle Anderson, president of the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce. “Survey results will be available by November 2004 on the Web site at www.surveynavigator.com/business.”

“One of the advantages to moving to a Web-based format is that salaries and benefits information will be current and germane to today’s ever-changing business climate. All members are encouraged to take part in this revolutionary approach to compensation management by completing the survey as soon as possible,” said David Jameson, president of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. “Our members realize that the value and cost of human capital is one of their organization’s greatest investments. Compensating and retaining qualified employees remain a constant challenge.”

Although participation is the survey is open to the Piedmont Triad chambers’ members only, the results will be available either online or in printed form to non-members as well. Annual subscriptions start at $495.
