ACCE and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce wish to honor and celebrate the achievements of international trade and commerce programs, campaigns and projects. We also wish to enhance the professional development of chamber professionals through the evaluation and recognition of efforts toward bettering one’s community and connecting it to the world.
The Going International Award seeks to showcase accomplishments that succeed in one or more of the following areas:
- Increasing or retaining local jobs by entering international markets
- Establishing alliances or partnerships to maximize international business
- Investing in and educating the community to expand international trade
- Demonstrating new or creative approaches to imports, exports, and other international commercial matters
- Producing for and adapting to foreign markets
- Marketing member businesses and home communities to investors and enterprises abroad
- Instituting foreign travel opportunities for members and organizations to explore new markets and cultures
- Advocating improvement of local, state, or national laws regarding international commerce
- Raising awareness of foreign countries and cultures through educational and/or arts programs
Two applicants will be awarded (a US or Canadian chamber with a budget less than $2 million and a US or Canadian chamber with a budget greater than $2 million) will receive:
- $5,000 (some of this allocated for air travel for two chamber executives and/or volunteers to Dubai)
- Complimentary hosting and tour of Dubai
- Award presented at the ACCE Convention in Los Angeles, CA
