What's In a Name?

The Palm Beach Post reports that a planned merger of two chambers of commerce in Palm Beach County, Florida's largest and richest per capita, is pretty much wrapped up except for choosing a new name for the merged entity. What that name will be is of some concern to several other chambers in the county.

When I was running the North Mason Chamber we chose to become regional and went for a name change to the Mason-Kitsap Chamber. The chambers in Kitsap county hated the idea. Many of our members hated the idea also. We went to a vote of the membership and they voted down the name change (and bylaws update). There is a lot in a name : ) Frank http://FrankJKennny.com
