Chairman's Message
This year your Membership Development Division Advisory Board has continued working hard for the Chamber profession, seeking creative ways to serve you better and driving initiatives focused on enhancing membership excellence and the development of membership professionals.
There is so much that can be done in these changing times to address the varied membership development needs within our Chambers. An important first step in determining MDD’s focus this year was the recent MDD survey. Thank you for your candid input. Based on the survey results we learned:
- 62% of you are involved in direct membership sales or retention
- 68% of you also supervise others
- Your reported # 1 revenue related challenge is retention
- The # 1 challenge your chamber is facing is “articulating value”
- And, the MOST valuable benefit of MDD involvement is the creation of a peer group to share best practices.
“If you don’t know what to aim at, you will miss the target every time” Over the course of the next year, MDD will be establishing priorities to better meet the changing needs of our industry and our profession. We will seek your feedback and refine offerings. In our chambers, we must make tangible improvements in how we engage our members for future success. It is no different for ACCE.
Within ACCE’s Membership Development Division, our goal is to steadily improve on how we engage you, the membership professional, to grow in your career and within the Chamber industry. If you would like to be part of an MDD committee (the next generation of leaders) please let Crystal Moore know. cmoore@acce.org. She is waiting to hear from you.
In all you do, I would enthusiastically remind you…
