Small Business Development Professionals need to serve their business communities in many capacities to do their jobs effectively. Based on feedback from the Division, the Small Business Development Body of Knowledge is used to help plan future conferences and product development.
Business Development
- Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of how to start a business
- Understand the business climate in your community
- Identify and implement affinity programs for small businesses
- Educate and develop programs for specific needs (i.e. Customer Service, Bad Checks, Cash Flow, etc)
- Identify additional information resources
- Develop a tool to identify growth companies
- Identify trends in business development
- Develop and implement business education programs
- Develop and Implement business service programs, including mentoring, tips/leads groups, CEO roundtables, trade shows etc.
