When and where is the convention taking place?  

The ACCE Convention 2010 takes place in Milwaukee, WI at the Frotier Airlines Center (formerly Midwest Airlines Center) located at 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53203. The Convention starts on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 and concludes on Saturday, August 7, 2010. Some of the evening events as well as some of the committee meetings will take place in the Hotels which are the Hilton Milwaukee City Center located at 509 West Wisconsin Avenue and the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee 333 West Kilbourn Avenue.

What is the "host" hotel in Milwaukee?

Both the Hilton and the Hyatt are ACCE's host hotels.  There is not one "main" hotel.  Each hotel is connected to the Frotier Airlines Center (formerly Midwest Airlines Center) by a skywalk.  The governance meetings are split between the two hotels.   

Are there ATM machines in the hotels?

Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) are located in each of the convention hotels.  

How do I find out if someone has registered for the Annual Convention?

You will receive a list of attendees when you pick up your registration materials. 

What should I wear?

We want you to relax and be comfortable, that's why business casual attire is suggested. You will be in an always-perfect 70 degree climate-controlled area, but when you venture out for the night life, be prepared for a possible change in the weather. 

What is the climate like in Milwaukee?

The average temperature in August is 62° Fahrenheit.

Will the convention center and hotels be accessible for persons with disabilities?

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was enacted to ensure that persons with disabilities are afforded the same opportunities to participate in American society, as all persons.  The Center is highly accessible according to the spirit and intent of ADA. As a “Public Assembly Facility” the Frotier Airlines Center (formerly Midwest Airlines Center) is responsible for permanent building access accommodations such as (but not limited to) wheelchair ramps, elevator standards, door width standards and restroom accessibility. 

Are taxicabs accessible?

Milwaukee's professional taxi cab drivers know the city's streets like the back of their hands. It is easiest way to hail a cab is at the airport or at one of the hotels.  ACCE will provide transportation to all events that are not within walking distance of the Convention Center. 

How do we purchase audio CD-ROM, DVD and videotapes?

Attendees will have the ability to pre-order the the session recording on CD-ROM at the Registration Desk during the convention. You will be able to use your VISA, MasterCard, American Express or cash for payment. Audio and/or videotaping by attendees or companies is prohibited. 

Which hotel has smoking rooms?

All the hotels are smoke-free. 

How do I register for the ACCE Annual Convention?

Please make sure you are logged in using your personal ACCE login and password. If you are registering someone else, please make sure you are using their personal login and password.

I need to book my plane ticket, when does the Convention start and end? 

Wednesday, August 4th-- Welcome Reception begins at 5:30pm

Saturday, August 7th-- Closing Plenary Session ends at 2:30pm

How can I cancel my convention registration and get a refund?

 
If the Cancellation Form is received on or before June 25, 2010, ACCE will refund the meeting registration amount minus a $50 processing fee. After June 25, 2010, all submitted cancellation forms will receive a 50% refund minus a $50 processing fee. Because of meal guarantees, no refunds will be issued after July 9, 2010. *Please note that registration cancellations do not automatically cancel hotel reservation.  You are responsible for cancelling your own hotel reservations if you decide not to attend the Milwaukee convention.

I've registered for the convention, but unexpectedly can't go! Can I send someone in my place?

Yes you may send someone in your place.  Simply fax a Registration Change Form DOC to the attention of Nicole Gentry at (703) 212-9512. Complete this form with your substitute's information and a copy of your initial registration form.  

Are there business centers in the convention hotels?

All of the hotels have business centers for you convenience.  The Frotier Airlines Center (formerly Midwest Airlines Center) also has a business center. 

Where do I stay? 

ACCE has secured rooms at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center and Hyatt Regency Milwaukee. To make a reservation at either property please visit the hotels page on our website. 

May I bring my spouse and children into the Commerce of Chambers Exhibit Hall?

Spouses must be registered for the convention in order to visit the exhibit hall.  For insurance reasons, children under the age of 16 are prohibited from the exhibit hall. 

Do I have to be a member of ACCE to attend? 

No, an ACCE membership is not a requirement but ACCE members do receive a hefty discount. For more information on ACCE membership, please contact Chaaron Pearson, Manager, Member Relations at (703) 998-3540.

Where can I get the up-to-date schedule of events for the convention? 

Please visit the Main Schedule page for the most up-to-date listing of convention events. 

Is there an extra charge for the educational workshops? 

No, all workshops are included in your registration fee.  Even if you register for one day, you are eligible to attend all workshops for that day. 

Do I have to register in advance for the educational workshops? 

No, you will have time to decide onsite, however it’s a good idea take a look at the website and the brochure before hand, so you know what workshops are being offered.

Can my spouse attend the Annual Convention? 

Yes! ACCE offers a special discounted rate to spouses of the Annual Convention attendees. The Full Guest Program costs $350 and includes the Welcome Reception, Convention Party at the Milwaukee Brewers Ballgame, and the Awards Evening. 

Where is the Registration Desk? 

The ACCE Convention Registration Desk will be located on the Mezzanine level of the Frotier Airlines Center (formerly Midwest Airlines Center).   

When is registration open?

Wednesday, August 4  12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 
Thursday, August 5  7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. 
Friday, August 6  8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 7  8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. 

What happens if I lose my badge at the Convention? 

Please go to the ACCE Registration Desk and ask for a replacement badge. It can take up to an hour to process new badges so we ask that you return in an hour to pick it up. Your name badge is mandatory for admittance for all of the ACCE 2010 Milwaukee Events.  

I've already registered but never received a confirmation. What should I do?

If you have not received an email confirmation of your convention registration from ACCE within 5-7 business days, please email Nicole Gentry or call ACCE at 800-394-2223. 

Will you check badges at the door of the Commerce of Chambers Exhibit Hall?

Yes, all registered attendees are expected to show their badge upon entering the Commerce of Chambers Exhibit Hall.
