Improve Your Chamber’s Performance With ACCE
"Don’t tell anyone, but you guys are losing money on me. I get WAY more out of you than I’ve ever paid for. You never cease to amaze. And I’m grateful."
—Doug Peters, CEO, Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce, N.C.
What is ACCE?
Established in 1914 by 50 chamber administrators, the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) today includes 7,000 leaders from 1,300 chambers of commerce, including 93 of the top 100 metro areas in the U.S. The combined membership of ACCE chambers exceeds 1.2 million businesses. Members look to ACCE for best practices, industry trends, corporate partners, networking, and new ideas to advance the interests of their communities. Why Join?
ACCE provides tools, resources, information and important connections, all of which help you develop programs and events, create marketing plans, motivate your members, deepen community involvement and, along the way, make your community a more competitive place to do business. You and your team will be more effective, and your chamber will do more and better work that will benefit your members and your community.
"Good morning and WOW! The new Membership Drives page is an incredible resource. Huge thanks for taking the time to put it together. I know it will be very much appreciated by membership professionals all over the country."
—Elli Bowen, Membership Manager, Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, Kan.
What do You Get?
Join and you’ll get products and services that every chamber can use, but many don’t have. For example, our online samples library features pdfs and Word files of other chambers’ publications, marketing brochures, event plans and timelines, and internal documents such as job descriptions and policies on staff and CEO bonuses. A new service, Dynamic Chamber Benchmarking (DCB), is based on data ACCE collects on chamber salaries and operations. DCB provides instant charts and graphs comparing your chamber to others of similar size. And these are just a sample of what ACCE membership offers.
"I’ve spent that last couple of days reading documents and using information from the ACCE website. It is truly amazing how much information that you have been able to gather and provide for member consumption."
—Mike “Q” Quaintance, CCE, President, Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral, Fla.
Joining also provides opportunities for personal growth and building your own network. We urge you to be active within your association. You and your chamber will benefit—especially when you get involved. You can request help from a mentor or be a mentor yourself; you can serve on various boards and committees that provide input to ACCE staff; you can help develop education sessions for ACCE’s annual convention or editorial ideas for the award-winning Chamber Executive magazine. There are opportunities for involvement for everyone. Choose one to get started!
"The ability to meet, know, and converse with those in similar positions—
folks with new or better ways to think, execute, and solve issues—is the highest value ACCE provides. I am grateful for their time and talent,
but the groundwork for this came from my ACCE relationships."
—Tim Sheehy, CCE, President, Metro Milwaukee Association of Commerce
