Results of Recent Chamber Study Spreading Worldwide

Alexandria, VA -

The Schapiro Group study on "The Real Value of Joining a Local Chamber of Commerce," which showed that consumers prefer to buy from chamber members, has passed through the chamber industry at almost the speed of the Internet.

ACCE's Senior Vice President, Chris Mead, has collected 235 examples of the use of this study so far, mostly by chambers -- all the way from Philadelphia, Charlotte, and San Diego to tiny chambers throughout North America and as far afield as Angkor Wat, Cambodia.  "And these are only the examples we know about," he says.

According to Mead, many chambers have reprinted the press release in their respective newsletters, while others have created marketing graphics for their chamber's website referring to the study or blogged about it online.

The study, released only three months ago, was sponsored by IBM, Administaff, Jim Blasingame and AskJim.biz in cooperation with American Chamber of Commerce Executives. The study was conducted by The Schapiro Group and coordinated by Market Street Services. Here is a link to the original press release, which in turn has links to the study and to a one-page summary: Schapiro Group Study.

Chambers who would like to promote the study's results, are urged to contact Chris Mead to learn how they may use the study and how other chambers have used it as well.
