Joan Riehm, celebrated civic leader and friend to many chambers, passes away

Alexandria, VA -

Joan Riehm, immediate past chair of the Alliance for Regional Stewardship (ARS), died on Sunday, January 20, in Louisville, Ky.  She retired from her post as vice mayor of Louisville last year and within months was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Joan is being remembered by many of her colleagues in the chamber world as a dedicated civic leader.  Her recent work in helping ACCE join forces with ARS was one of her last civic accomplishments.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Melvin E. Greer; a stepson, Boyce Greer, his wife Anne and grandchildren Tessa, Cory and Riley.
