Time To Try Tennessee?

For the newest crop of baby-boomer retirees, Florida may be a "been there, done that" proposition. Apparently, Tennessee is stealing some of the Sunshine State's thunder in that arena, with a 27 percent increase (since 1995) in out-of-staters moving in to retire. Tennessee is hoping to fuel those fires with its "Choose Chattanooga" and "Retire Tennessee" initiatives. Why go all out to bring the 55+ set to a community? According to J.Ed. Marston, vice president of marketing for the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, there are plenty of reasons, including the fact that "each migrating retiree household creates two to four family-wage (middle-class) jobs."
