Harry Cowan, the long-time popular head of the Southeast U.S. Chamber of Commerce Atlanta office, died Jan. 27 following a stairway fall at his Atlanta home. His long-time friend Jerry Bartels reports that Harry had been in good health prior to the accident. Cowan, 82, was a U.S. Chamber district manager and then Southeast Regional Manager for 25 years. He counseled hundreds of chamber of commerce executives during his quarter century of service, as well as during the period he managed three local chambers in Texas. He served the people of the profession long after he retired from the chamber business in 1994.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Feb. 1 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Atlanta.
